With several personal records, including a 16lb 1oz Barbel in the Thames, and a Level 1 Award in Coaching Angling from the Angling Trust, Steve is eager to impart his knowledge of fishing and wildlife to beginner and novice anglers. These full-day lessons take place on private lakes near Wellow village, which are well-maintained and well-stocked with brown and rainbow trout. Even with Steve's expert guidance, there's no guarantee the fish will be biting, but you'll certainly be giving yourself the best chance possible to catch a trout on the fly. All necessary gear is included, and no previous fishing experience is required. Steve will even spend time with you on the bank practising the art of casting before you head to the lakeside to fish. On these fly fishing experiences, a catch-and-release policy is in place, but you can usually take some fish home if you ask. Enjoy the peaceful and idyllic backdrop for a perfect day of fly fishing with Steve. The beautiful lake is near junction 2 of the M27, and there's even a local pub nearby for a nice pint and meal before or after your lesson if you're on the half-day experience.   • Experiences run on selected weekday and weekend dates throughout the year
  • Please note that during June and July these experiences may not run due to an increase in temperatures
