Central in a landlocked area that neighbours with South and West Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester, the Peak District National Park is one of the most visually captivating areas of the British Isles, and on this inspiring and adventurous half day photography workshop, you'll have the opportunity to capture the best of it on camera! You'll have the choice to go on either the morning or afternoon session, both of which offer different locations but with plenty of potential for exploration and discovery. In the morning session, you'll be over near Derbyshire, at the deep and narrow valley of Padley Gorge, embarking on a route through tranquil ancient woodlands with the Burbage Brook quietly babbling over rocks. But if it's an afternoon session that's more of your preference, then you'll get to visit the site of the former Bolehill Quarry, where you'll be awestruck by how the land has gradually reclaimed this once bustling quarry for Peak District stone in the early 20th century, with the rows of graceful birch trees. Or for those who are either early birdies or night owls, there are early morning and early evening sessions available at one of the Peak District’s most picturesque view points at sunrise and sunset, among the Hope Valley’s famed heather fields as they are bathed in the light of early morning or the glow of dusk. Whichever session you go for, your tutor on both sessions, Alan, is not only your ideal guide to these areas, but also the man to learn some helpful photography techniques from, whether you're capturing wild flowers and fungi up close, the vibrant colours of the trees or simply taking in stunning panoramic views. You'll learn a lot, and you'll also get to spend it with like minded people, as you'll be in a small group of six participants, and you'll get to explore the Peak District as you never imagined before!
